John Cressler’s historical novel “Fortune’s Lament” again tops Milford House Press bestsellers for April

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Sunbury Press has released the bestsellers list for April for its Milford House Press fiction imprint. John Cressler’s recently-released Fortune’s Lament held the top spot. Cressler took one other spot with his first book of the Anthems of al-Andalus Series, Emeralds of the Alhambra at 16th place. Joe Harvey's From Blue Ground bolted to #2. Joan West’s first book in the Carlisle Crime Cases series, Dying for Vengeance, held at #3. Her three other books in the series: Courting Doubt and Darkness (#13), Darkness at First Light (#14), and Had a Dying Fall (#15) also charted. Marie Sontag charted with her YA novel Rising Hope in 10th. Bridget Smith returned to the rankings at #5 with Where Elephants Fought. Jess Steven Hughes took the four spots with his historical novels set in Ancient Rome. The Sign of the Eagle, the first book of the series, took 12th place. The recently-released The Broken Lance was 6th. The Wolf of Britannia Part I was 7th, while its partner, Part II, was 9th. Jim Remsen rounded out the top 10 with his YA historical novel Visions of Teaoga.

Cressler’s novels continued to sell after release. Hughes’ books continue to sell well through bookstore events in the Pacific Northwest. West's books were helped by author activities, as were most of the others. .
