The Flip Side of Greatness: The Baseball Bozo Award 1920-1999, good-naturedly “honors” players who toiled on some of the game’s greatest teams of all time but didn’t do very well statistically. This book was written with tongue firmly in cheek and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Basic stats are used  to explain why players were chosen for the award but much of the opinion offered was subjective with plenty of wiggle room for disagreement. Try not to get too upset if one of your all-time favorite players is named a Baseball Bozo Award (BBA) winner or selected for a Mediocre Mention (MM)! Life is too short! Hopefully, plenty of diamond fans will appreciate reading about the bevy of players from 1920-1999 who stumbled through seasons on the best teams of the era. The august committee of baseball opinion experts Mr. Me, Mr. Myself and Mr. I. worked tirelessly for at least three or four days to determine awardees. The author’s opinion was respectfully considered before being rejected as being irrelevant.

Web trolls and social media baseball history religionists might like to check out The Flip Side of Greatness: The Baseball Bozo Award 1920-1999. There’s oodles within the covers to stoke their quixote-like passion to protect the game’s prior to 1970 legacy.
