Anyone wishing to unlock the secrets behind Pennsylvania’s treasure trove of old-time legends and folktales should read this book and its predecessors. Fascinating and unbelievable as some of these stories of ghosts, witches, Indians, and Pennsylvania’s early hunting days may seem, they often are based upon real events. Those “kernels of truth”, however, are often swept away in the unrelenting currents of time and lost forever unless someone can save them before they disappear.
